Levels of Disruptive Behaviors

5. DESTRUCTIVE

When a student exhibits disruptive behavior(s) that are clearly destructive to self, others and/or property, CALL 9-1-1 immediately.

4. DISRUPTIVE

When a student exhibits disruptive behavior(s) that require a planned response, speak with the student, if possible. Submit a Behavioral Assessment Report to the Student Behavior Assessment Team and/or call 512-245-2124 and speak with the chairperson.

3. SERIOUS

If a student exhibits behavior(s) that is not immediately disruptive but needs to be addressed quickly, speak with the student and make a referral to the appropriate office or service. For example, if the student appears intoxicated, make a referral to Student Conduct and Community Standards; if the student mentions thoughts of suicide and/or uncontrolled crying, refer the student to the Counseling Center; and, if the student mentions that he or she have been the perpetrator or recipient of unwanted sexual misconduct, refer the student to the Sexual Misconduct/Title IX Reporting Form.

2. CONCERNING

If a student exhibits behavior(s) that are not disruptive, but clearly inappropriate, speak with the student about the behavior(s) that are expected.

1. TROUBLING

If, in the course of interactions, you are troubled by a student who appears to be overwhelmed with either an academic or personal matter, submit a Here to Help report and the student will be contacted by the appropriate person or office within a few days.
